email:kksfp73@live.com web: www.kksfp.org
To all our friends and supporters, Kilohana Kai wishes to again thank you for your past support to help us contribute to the educational endeavors for many of the young people of Hawaii. Our joint fundraising efforts throughout the year not only helped us to meet our scholarship and school grant program we aimed for but it far exceeded our expectations.
Our summer days were kept busy by our sponsorship of a McKinley High School fundraiser to benefit the McKinley football trip to Oregon to play LaSalle High School in late August 2012, the AVID Science Program and the McKinley Tennis Court fund. For 22 days during summer school, we prepared and sold “lunch snacks during the recess period each morning. Spam musubi, manapua, drinks and more were on the menu with almost all of the items donated. To make 2800 spam musubi, over 260 cans of spam and 400 lbs. of rice was donated increasing the profit for distribution ($5557.00) to the school groups. Many of our Kilohana Kai supporters stepped in with donations of spam, rice, and cash donations. Mahalo!
The Mckinley High School Christmas Craft & Gift Fair will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the school cafeteria and surrounding grounds. Don’t miss this event, which helps to supports many school organizations, clubs and teams as well as community organizations as the Salvation Army and the Institute for Human Services. Our McKinley tennis team and Kilohana Kai sponsor this annual event. This year, we expect another festive event for all. Mark your calendar and help us advertise this event.
